OBS & Screen Switching

OBS Studio, even without a green screen, is highly recommended if you're going to teach lessons virtually (over Zoom or the like) as well as for recorded video content. Far from just being a high-tech "fancy" option, OBS gives you abilities for presenting your lessons that are more powerful than merely telling someone verbally, allowing you to incorporate custom on-screen visuals into your lesson presentations.

It may seem like a small thing, but it makes it easier to be taken seriously if you, and your teaching environment, communicate that you have this all figured out. 

As much as your teaching "should" speak for itself, it is naive to think that that's the only part of the packaging that matters to the end user. Perception matters.

The simple fact is that the more "pro" you come off, the more confidence you'll inspire in addition to your teaching acumen.

That's why the background behind you is important to consider. And while we don't all have access to a slick studio to teach from, you should think of SOME type of backdrop behind you when teaching. And while any solid background (or even a marbled one) can suffice, if that solid color happens to be green (and you light it well so that it appears as one consistent shade of green to the entire camera frame), you can use a Chroma Key plugin to make that color transparent.
